‘James Maddison packing his bags at Tottenham’ after latest Chelsea transfer update
James Maddison could soon find himself out of favour at Tottenham.
Tottenham’s Premier League campaign gets underway in little over a month, and the Lilywhites still have a lot of work to do across all fronts to be prepared for what will be a crucial season.
Recruitment is going to be the biggest aspect of that preparation, with several more arrivals expected in North London, while a handful of players could leave.
One of those who could be on his way out is Maddison, whose place in the side could be under threat after the latest news from Chelsea.

Mohammed Kudus could have joined Chelsea
Spurs pulled off a major coup with the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, though Chelsea were forced to miss out.
As for the reason behind that, it is claimed by Si Phillips (15 July) that Kudus wanted to be offered a central role at Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea saw him as a player to occupy the right flank.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Mohammed Kudus | 235 | 67 | 28 |
Now, if that is the same for Tottenham, it means that Maddison could lose his place in the starting 11, and he’s highly unlikely to stick around as a rotation option if that were to be the case.
Maddison has already been mooted for an exit from Spurs this summer, and this development could be the final nail in the coffin for him to pursue a move elsewhere.

Kudus could transform Tottenham
If there was one thing that Spurs struggled with last season, it was playing in transition.
Kudus’ arrival will change that, though it will be crucial that he plays from the off regularly and in his favoured position.
A £55million outlay is a high fee, and Tottenham need to get the best out of him if that is to prove to be value for money.
