Jack Grealish transfer: Tottenham twist emerges after 33% reveal

Jack Grealish may have to make a compromise to complete a transfer to Tottenham from Manchester City next summer.

The 29-year-old has been underwhelming at the Cityzens since his big-money move from Aston Villa, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave soon.

Spurs have been linked with a move for Grealish, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will materialise in the coming months, considering the finances that might be involved.

Ange Postecoglou may be without Son Heung-min at the end of the season as he could potentially leave after a disappointing season, and his replacement will definitely be needed in N17.

Tottenham transfer may require pay cut for Grealish

Grealish may need to take a pay cut to seal a move from City to the North London outfit in the upcoming transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.

The news outlet reports (8 March) that the England international will have to reduce his wages by 33 per cent to sign for the Lilywhites next summer.

It has been claimed that the 29-year-old currently earns £300,000 a week in Manchester, but Spurs caps salaries at just under £200,000 a week.

Daniel Levy isn’t expected to change the wage structure at Tottenham, which means the former Villa superstar may need to compromise on his demands to force a move.

Postecoglou cannot fit Grealish in Spurs system

Postecoglou may not be able to fit Grealish in the North London outfit’s system, considering every forward player is required to press with intent.

While the City star is undoubtedly an impressive talent on his day, he can sometimes leave a lot to be desired with his application on the pitch.

The Lilywhites are known for their high intensity style of play under the Australian manager, which may not suit the English forward.

Grealish has seen his prospects at the Etihad Stadium dwindle over the last few seasons as the likes of Jeremy Doku seem to have pipped him in the pecking order.

There could arguably be a massive exodus on the cards at the North London outfit at the end of the current campaign, leading to changes in attack.

Spurs fans will not want to see Timo Werner continue for another year, and it will be interesting to see whether any other forwards will want to leave after what has been a woeful few months in N17.

The Lilywhites should be in for someone like Grealish to strengthen their forward line, but an approach feels unlikely.
