Here’s why Daniel Levy exit hands Tottenham fresh hope of Morgan Rogers transfer
Daniel Levy’s exit from Tottenham is bound to open up several avenues never explored in North London.
Spurs have already terminated Levy’s appointment from Companies House, showing that they are moving on fast.
This summer, they secured several high-profile names, but Tottenham were unable to land Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
However, with the 63-year-old out of the way, there is now a clear route to land Rogers in the future.
Why Tottenham tried to sign Morgan Rogers this summer
James Maddison ruptured his ACL in Spurs’ pre-season, emphasising the need for another attacking-midfielder.
In truth, the Lilywhites were seeking a creative talent before that, with the ever-consistent Dejan Kulusevski also sidelined.
However, Tottenham endured a frustrating window, missing out on both Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze.
Then, Spurs reportedly made contact over Rogers, but their interest was far too late in the window for a deal to go ahead.
Although the England international has remained at Villa Park, the North London club could yet land him after Levy’s departure.

Daniel Levy got in the way of Spurs transfers
After failing to land Harry Kane, Pep Guardiola suggested that Levy was impossible to do business with.
Indeed, he was not the only one, as some Premier League figures had long tired of doing business with the 63-year-old, according to The Independent on 5 September.
Miguel Delaney reports that one source said: “You did a deal once and you never wanted to do it again.”
While the North London outfit were willing to spend significantly this summer, it has been stated that they simply did not know how to complete a ‘blockbuster’ transfer.
Delaney adds that some who were close to the situation regarding the proposed move for Rogers, insisted another of the ‘big six’ would have put forward a seismic figure to test Villa’s resolve, but Tottenham would not do it without having a sense of a price.

In essence, it appears that Levy was not clued up on how to secure such a deal despite selling players for hefty fees.
Spurs sold Kane to Bayern Munich for just under £90m, but have needed their hand held to spend anywhere near that.
With Levy gone, the purse straps can be loosened, but it is not something that he would have wanted.
However, if it means that they can land players like Rogers, then his departure will be welcomed.
