Everything we noticed about Son Heung-min’s shock appearance at LAFC game
Son Heung-min made a surprise appearance at LAFC’s most recent game after the recent announcement that he will be leaving Tottenham.
The iconic South Korean has spent the last decade with the Lilywhites, but he recently revealed that he will be leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer to take on a new challenge.
Son is being heavily linked with a move to LAFC, as the MLS side are thought to be readying a deal worth around £20million, which could even rise to £22.5m and break the league’s current transfer record.
The forward’s move to LAFC is not yet confirmed, but all the signs are pointing towards him becoming the next stateside star.

Son shown on big screen during LAFC v Tigres
Son did not fly back to the UK with the rest of the Tottenham squad after their pre-season tour of Asia, and he has now made a surprise appearance in the stands at an LAFC game.
The 33-year-old was present to watch his likely new teammates line up against Mexican outfit Tigres in the final game of their Leagues Cup campaign.
The tournament sees MLS sides face off against their counterparts from Mexico’s top flight, and the Tottenham captain was present to take in the latest clash for the Los Angeles outfit.
Son was shown on the Leagues Cup’s official X account (6 August) sitting next to LAFC defender Aaron Long as the action unfolded, and he appeared to be making intense conversation with the 32-year-old American.
He also spent time signing LAFC shirts with his name on the back, as the fans appeared to have immediately taken to the man who looks set to become their next big-name star.
Son was also displayed on the big screen at the BMO Stadium, and drew a huge cheer from the fans in the process, as shown by journalist Aaron Heisen via X (6 August).
Son’s LAFC move feels like a formality
Son’s move from Spurs to LAFC is not even confirmed yet, but it already feels like a formality.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man’s appearance at the recent game was likely not intended to be a major publicity stunt, but it still ended up attracting a huge amount of fanfare, both in the stands and online.
That simply would not happen if the deal wasn’t all but confirmed.
Son’s departure will feel like the end of an era for Daniel Levy and the Tottenham fans, but they can surely at least take solace from the fact that their skipper seems to be moving to a club and a fanbase that will hold him in equally high regard.
