Dean Huijsen agreement close as Tottenham transfer development emerges

Tottenham are preparing for a massive overhaul this summer after a disappointing Premier League campaign.

With just three games left of the season, all of Spurs’ hopes rest on the Europa League final.

Victory will take them into the Champions League, which will no doubt save their season.

However, even the trophy may not be enough to save their transfer window, as one of Tottenham’s top targets, Dean Huijsen, is set to move to Real Madrid.

Bournemouth’s Huijsen close to joining Real Madrid amid Tottenham interest

Tottenham have been after Huijsen for months

The Bournemouth defender has been incredible since he joined the Cherries this summer, and he could still guide them into Europe before the campaign is out.

As a result, interest is high for the 20-year-old. Tottenham have eyed Huijsen as a potential Cristian Romero replacement as the Argentine looks set to leave this summer.

However, Spurs now look like they will miss out on their target if recent reports are to be believed.

According to Sky Sports (16 May), an agreement between Real Madrid and Bournemouth for Huijsen is close.

The Spanish giants have agreed to pay his £50 million release clause, and the defender’s representatives remain in Madrid as they work on finalising an agreement on personal terms before the weekend.

Tottenham miss out on yet another player

It is now becoming a common trend at Tottenham where they continuously miss out on their top targets.

While players may be waiting to see if Spurs win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, this is still a mess of the London club’s own making.

Huijsen could have been a revolutionary signing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and maintained a place in the backline for over a decade.

However, now Spurs are going to have to find another centre-back to sign this summer as they continue to scramble in preparation for the transfer window.
