Davide Frattesi transfer ready at Tottenham as early offer emerges

Tottenham have been offered Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi in the winter transfer window, according to TBR Football.

The news outlet reports (7 January) that the North Londoners have been offered the Italian as they look to strengthen their engine room.

Frattesi is frustrated at Inter Milan, and his agents have contacted the Lilywhites, but the 25-year-old wants to stay in Italy.

The North Londoners have already announced the arrival of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague this month.

Davide Frattesi transfer not a priority for Tottenham in January

Spurs evidently have other priorities in January, with the lack of depth in defence clearly visible over the last few weeks.

Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies are all on the sidelines at the moment, leading to selection headaches for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham have had to rely on the partnership of Radu Dragusin and Archie Gray at the back over the last few matches, but the defensive frailties have been exposed.

Djed Spence had to cover for the Romanian at centre-back in the second half as the North London outfit lost 2-1 to Newcastle on Saturday (4 January).

Spurs undoubtedly need reinforcements in the coming weeks, but it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy will be willing to put his hands in his pockets.

Considering Tottenham’s stringent budget over the years, it looks unlikely that a midfielder and defender will be signed.

The Lilywhites need a short-term solution and should go after a centre-back before pursuing other targets.
