Bryan Mbuemo deal days away as Tottenham get their answer
Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with a move away from Brentford after his best season in a Bees shirt.
Mbeumo was one of the first names linked with a move to Tottenham this summer, with rumours quickly gathering pace following Thomas Frank‘s appointment.
The Cameroon international more than doubled his previous goalscoring record in the Premier League last season, and was vital in guiding his club to a mid-table finish.
His form has attracted plenty of suitors to assess a move for the 24-year-old, with a deal now seemingly days away from being concluded.

Manchester United to send improved offer for Mbeumo
Despite the prospect of being reunited with his former manager, Mbeumo prefers to move to Manchester United, the club he supported growing up, this summer.
The forward has reported to pre-season training with Brentford, and is reportedly open to staying with the West London side if a deal with the Red Devils doesn’t materialise.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Brentford | 242 | 70 | 51 |
Troyes | 46 | 12 | 4 |
Ruben Amorim’s side have already seen a bid rejected, and according to Sky Sports (13 July), they are ready to send the Bees an improved offer within days.
Frank’s former side value their star player at around £65million, and are unwilling to deviate too far from their valuation.
The news will further distance Spurs from a move for Mbeumo this summer and could impact their pursuit of Yoane Wissa, as Brentford is unwilling to sell both players in the same window.
Tottenham’s priorities have moved on from Mbeumo
There is no doubt that a reunion with Mbeumo would’ve given both Frank and Spurs a huge boost going into next season.
However, with the signing of Mohammed Kudus completed earlier this week, the need at Hotspur Way to sign the right-sided forward has diminished.
The Danish manager now has other priorities, namely sorting out the futures of Son Heung-min and Cristian Romero, before moving on to signing a specialist to fill the defensive midfield role.
