Tottenham are one of the sides interested in signing the player during the winter transfer window, as well as Chelsea and Manchester United.

Speaking after Bayern defeated Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League on Wednesday (29 January), Eberl dropped the bombshell update, saying of Tel: “We spoke in December, and Mathys said he wanted to assert himself.  Now he has said he would like to leave. Now we have to think about whether we will do it and what we will do.”

Tottenham eyeing Mathys Tel

Tel has shown he has bundles of talent so far and there is no doubt that the 19-year-old looks like an exciting prospect for whoever is set to gain his services.

However, despite his talent, the winger has struggled to get regular game time at Bayern Munich and this season, he has made 14 appearances in all competitions, providing one assist which came in the league.

Although the youngster was keen to try and establish himself in the first team, it’s also not a surprise to see a change of heart and the desire to go and get regular minutes elsewhere as he looks to progress his career.
