Alan Shearer thrilled with what he heard Thomas Frank say about Tottenham transfers
Thomas Frank has not failed to impress since Tottenham appointed him as head coach.
There were questions about his ability to coach at the top level when Tottenham appointed Frank to replace Ange Postecoglou.
He has since proven most pessimists wrong. First came during Spurs’ defeat to PSG in the UEFA Super Cup final. While the Lilywhites lost on penalties, their initial 85 minutes sold fans dreams.
Now, after Tottenham’s 2-0 victory against Manchester City, there is an expectation that Spurs can win big things under the Dane.
Alan Shearer is the latest person who has been impressed with Frank’s approach since becoming head coach at the North London club.

Tottenham believed that Eberechi Eze’s transfer to North London was almost a done deal.
However, after Kai Havertz was sidelined due to injury, the Gunners reignited their interest in the Englishman. A couple of hours later, Eze was on his way to Arsenal.
This was humiliating for Tottenham after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White, and CEO Vinai Venkatesham got caught up in the fallout of Eze’s failed transfer.
But Frank was adamant that players who do not want to play for Tottenham should not arrive in North London. Shearer seems to agree with the sentiment wholeheartedly.
Speaking on Match of the Day on Saturday, 23 August, he said: “I heard Thomas Frank say today that if players don’t want to play for us, fine. Forget them, we’ll move on.
“And he’s made a brilliant start to his Tottenham career.”
The Lilywhites have now moved on to other number 10 targets as Frank looks to strengthen that position.

Who should replace James Maddison at Tottenham?
James Maddison’s substitution against Newcastle United during pre-season and later confirmed ACL injury was a shock to the system.
As such, Tottenham have been left scrambling for a replacement. Morgan Rogers and Nico Paz are considered potential options for the Spurs.
They’re both good options for two very different reasons. What Rogers lacks in forward passes, he makes up for in ball carrying. While Paz excels in progressive passing.
Pape Matar Sarr cannot be ruled out as an alternative and was used by Frank as a 10 during Spurs’ defeat to Bayern Munich during pre-season.
While he is not a 10, as Tottenham’s recent Premier League win has demonstrated, the Dane can adapt his midfield to work around the Senegalese midfielder.
Last season, he outperformed his competition in several regards, including forward passes, duels, and possession won. With Sarr excelling in both attack and defence, Frank may already have Maddison’s replacement at home.
