Tottenham’s relegation chances shift in supercomputer update after West Ham defeat vs Newcastle
Tottenham Hotspur fans will have been gleefully watching on as West Ham failed to pick up a result against Newcastle United.
The Hammers are now looking in real trouble, and pressure is mounting on Spurs to come away from their final away game of the season with a result.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side has been strong away from home, but London rivals Chelsea would relish in the chance to relegate the Lilywhites.
While the result at St. James’ Park is a positive, it is by no means a guarantee of survival, but it certainly moves Tottenham closer.
Ahead of Tottenham’s match against Chelsea, the latest supercomputer prediction has emerged about their relegation chances.

What are Tottenham’s chances of relegation now?
Celebrations at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be mooted despite West Ham handing Spurs a golden opportunity.
The Irons’ loss against Newcastle has put Tottenham further into the relegation driving seat ahead of the final week of the season.
| Tottenham’s form in last five games | Total |
| Wins | 2 |
| Draws | 2 |
| Losses | 1 |
Previously, before the Hammers’ game against the Geordies, Tottenham’s chances of relegation stood at 19.54 per cent; however, they have now dramatically shifted in the Lilywhites’ favour.
Spurs’ chances of relegation are now just 6.17 per cent according to the Opta supercomputer.
In contrast, West Ham are said to have a 93.83 per cent chance of being relegated to the Championship, with the E20 outfit having just one game left.
Thanks to Newcastle, a result against Chelsea could ultimately confirm their Premier League status for next season.
Even though a draw at Stamford Bridge would mean West Ham could mathematically level Spurs’ points tally, the 13-goal difference swing would be quite the feat for the Irons to overcome, and an unlikely one.
However, a win would now mean they head into the final day of the season confirmed to have avoided the drop.

Tottenham’s record at Stamford Bridge puts nervy edge on Tuesday’s showdown
Tottenham will head into the game against Chelsea knowing they have it all to do. Their record against the Blues certainly showcases it.
In the last 35 games between these two sides at Chelsea’s home ground, Spurs have managed to pick up just one win.
In the other 34, the match has ended in a draw on 11 occasions, with 23 losses for the Lilywhites. Chelsea are not in great form, providing some belief for Spurs.
A draw will more than likely be enough for the N17 outfit, who will have a tricky fixture against Everton on the final day. But, despite the shift in odds, they cannot be complacent now.
The Toffees have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe, but they will need a win for that to happen.
