Tottenham: Gabby Agbonlahor rages at Guglielmo Vicario after ’embarrassing’ scenes vs Everton
Tottenham Hotspur keeper Guglielmo Vicario did himself no favours while on the bench against Everton on Sunday.
The Lilywhites may have secured a 1-0 victory over David Moyes’ side to seal their place in the Premier League, but celebrating was a stretch too far.
It is only right that the fans were able to show their joy after putting up with months and months of ridicule, thanks to consistent, shocking performances in N17.
All that led to a massively tense final day, which was reflected in the attitude of many players before the three points were eventually certain.
Vicario didn’t even feature as Tottenham beat Everton in North London, but has still rightly come under scrutiny from Gabby Agbonlahor in the aftermath.

Guglielmo Vicario slammed for Seamus Coleman beef vs Everton
The Italian has hardly covered himself in glory throughout the season, and things have arguably gotten better since he’s been out injured.
His performances contributed to Spurs being in such a poor position in the Premier League before he opted to have surgery a few weeks ago.
| Stat (Premier League 25/26) | Guglielmo Vicario |
| Appearances | 31 |
| Goals conceded | 50 |
| Goals conceded per 90 | 1.6 |
| Error led to goal | 2 |
He made his return to the matchday squad in N17 against the Toffees, but watched the entire 90 minutes from the bench with Antonin Kinsky in goal.
The shot stopper still got himself among the headlines as he clashed with Seamus Coleman on the sidelines.
Moyes and De Zerbi came face to face before Vicario and the Everton stalwart went at it, with the Spurs man seemingly offering to fight the Irishman.
Agbonlahor has been left seriously unimpressed by the shot stopper as he hit out at him live on talkSPORT.
He said: “Vicario, I was watching the game and listening to the commentary with Gary Neville, and he was spot on. This goalkeeper has done nothing in a Spurs shirt; he’s been dreadful, and there’s a clip of him offering out Seamus Coleman.
“Vicario, we’ve seen you punch, mate, and you can’t punch the ball; you’re not going to be able to punch anybody. We know you can’t fight, so have some respect for a Premier League legend in Seamus Coleman. That summed up Vicario. I think he was an embarrassment to the football club, get rid.”
There is now likely to be a decision between Kinsky and Vicario at Tottenham moving forward, with the latter doing himself no favours on the final day.
Vicario should focus on his performances at Tottenham
The 29-year-old has had some positive times at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but those have been few and far between this season.
That has seen him concede 50 goals in 31 Premier League outings, while contributing to yet another 17th-place finish.
He has had some shocking performances in that time, with his showing as he conceded four against Arsenal summing him up.
Vicario maintained a save ratio of just 33 per cent that day, while only completing two of his 23 attempted long balls.
Ironically, he also failed to complete a punch against Mikel Arteta’s side, only fueling Agbonlahor’s argument further.
The Italian really should have his eye on proving himself at Spurs rather than causing a scene and embarrassing himself on the sidelines.
