Xavi Simons starts, £60m star dropped – Tottenham’s perfect XI as transfer window shuts
Tottenham have what it takes to win big this season after a successful summer transfer window.
It seemed like a touch-and-go for a while for Daniel Levy in the market.
Tottenham completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham earlier in the window. Joao Palhinha followed, but it all went downhill after that and in between.
Tottenham saw Morgan Gibbs-White extend his contract at Nottingham Forest despite agreeing personal terms with the Lilywhites. Meanwhile, Arsenal hijacked Eberechi Eze’s transfer to Tottenham, which saw Vinai Venkatesham caught up in the crossfire.
But with Tottenham announcing Randal Kolo Muani and Xavi Simons, it seems that Thomas Frank has a team good enough to compete.

Xavi Simons starts in Tottenham’s best XI
Simons’ introduction to North London was watching Bournemouth dominate Tottenham at home in the Premier League.
While a welcome which should have remained on the shelf, there is no doubt he is eager to help turn things around for the Lilywhites.
As such, he should move into midfield alongside Pape Matar Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur, in a move that would see loanee Palhinha demoted to the bench.
Destiny Udogie should likely reclaim his spot as starting left-back, with Djed Spence accepting a peripheral role once more. The rest of the backline is set to remain unchanged from what Tottenham fans are used to.

Randal Kolo Muani replaces Richarlison for Tottenham
Richarlison has had an excellent start for Tottenham, scoring two goals and providing one assist in his last three games.
However, Kolo Muani could likely start for Frank over the next couple of weeks.
- Kolo Muani provided 16 goal contributions last season while Richarlison provided seven
- Tottenham signed Richarlison for £60million from Everton in 2022
- Richarlison missed 37 games for Spurs last season, while Kolo Muani was unavailable for zero
It must not be forgotten that the Brazilian started well under Ange Postecoglou during the 2023/24 season, before injuries took hold. As such, there is sure to be a degree of scepticism surrounding Richarlison’s form.
The Frenchman should slot in beside Brennan Johnson and Kudus to form an attack built on pace, technique and power. If the three achieve good synergy straight away, this could become one of the best attacks in the Premier League.
