Tottenham vs Liverpool most memorable Premier League goals: Luka Modric missile and Mo Salah magic
There’s been some superb goals scored when Tottenham and Liverpool have met in the Premier League.
Tottenham take on Liverpool in the Premier League this Saturday evening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs lost 3-0 to Nottingham Forest last time out, as pressure continues to increase on Thomas Frank.
Liverpool appear to have turned a corner in recent weeks, with three wins and no defeats from their last five games in all competitions, somewhat easing the talk of Arne Slot being axed at Anfield.
Tottenham are slight underdogs against Liverpool, in what feels like a must win game for Frank and his team if they are to keep in touch with the European spots.
Liverpool and Tottenham have played out some memorable Premier League games down the years, and ahead of this latest renewal, Tottenham News has looked back on some of the best goals to come from their clashes.

Tottenham’s Erik Edman bags Anfield all-timer
On a mid-April day in 2005, Tottenham defender Erik Edman hit one of the sweetest strikes Anfield has ever seen.
Just 12 minutes into the game, the Swede picked up the ball a little under 50 yards out from Jerzy Dudek in the Liverpool goal, and as he took a touch, it was clear for everyone to see what he was about to attempt.
Few expected anything less than for the ball to sail into the Kop, and there was undoubtedly many a Spurs fan begging him not to shoot, but he didn’t listen, and thankfully so.
His left-footed effort seemed to travel in the Merseyside air for an age, before the top corner of the net brought the ball to a rest.
That game finish 2-2, but Edman forever lent his name to the fixture thanks to his outrageous long-ranged goal.

Mo Salah scores sublime solo goal
He won’t be on the pitch this weekend thanks to AFCON duties, but few can forget when Mo Salah danced through Tottenham’s defence in February 2018.
The scoreline was level at 1-1 as the game ticked past the 90th minute, but just as it did so, Salah produced a piece of individual magic that looked to have handed the Reds all three points.
Receiving the ball on the right and just outside the box, Salah attempted to chip the ball into the Spurs box, but his pass rebounded to him after being blocked.
He even turned his head away to briefly appeal for a handball decision, but once that was waved away, he found the ball again and chopped back onto his right foot.
Salah then beat three Tottenham defenders before dinking the ball over Hugo Lloris to make it 2-1, but a 95th-minute Harry Kane penalty would seal a dramatic point for Tottenham after all.
Luka Modric worldie helps Tottenham hit Liverpool for four
In a mid-September meeting at White Hart Lane, Luka Modric would kickstart an unforgettable day for Tottenham fans.
With just seven minutes gone in the game, the ball broke to Modric just to the left of centre outside the box.
Modric didn’t need time to make up his mind on what to do next, as he struck the ball first time, generating awesome power.
The venomous strike bent into the top corner, leaving Pepe Reina powerless to prevent one of the all-time great White Hart Lane goals.
Spurs would go on to win the match 4-0, with Liverpool being shown two red cards to boot.
John Arne Riise hits trademark thunderbolt
In September 2006, Liverpool would defeat Tottenham 3-0 at Anfield.
But it was to be a day best remembered by the last of those goals, as in trademark fashion, John Arne Riise hit a powerful left-footed strike that left Liverpool and Spurs fans alike amazed.
Picking the ball up inside the centre circle, Riise carried the ball forwards down the middle of the pitch until he was around 35 yards out from Paul Robinson in the Tottenham goal.
The Norwegian then unleashed his effort, which was nestling in the bottom corner before Robinson knew all too much about it.
- Liverpool have won the last two meetings with Tottenham by an aggregate score of 9-1
- Only once out of the last five games have Liverpool failed to score less than three goals in a single match against Spurs
- Liverpool have claimed just 10 points on the road this season, with four defeats, three wins and one draw away from home
Let’s hope there are some more memorable goals scored in this weekend’s mouth-watering renewal.
