View: Tottenham striker Richarlison left in tears after yet another goalless performance in Brazil v Bolivia
Richarlison has endured a miserable start to his campaign, failing to find the net in any of his Premier League games for Tottenham so far.
With club-record goalscorer Harry Kane saying goodbye to Tottenham and heading to Bayern Munich, all eyes turned to the club’s number nine to lead the line. However, so far, Richarlison has failed to deliver.
Ange Postecoglou and his players have made a bright start to the season, sitting second in the Premier League after winning three of their opening four games and drawing the other, yet the poor performances from the Brazillian are hard to overlook.

He is yet to find the back of the net in the league and has scored just once overall, during Spurs’ Carabao Cup exit to Fulham at Craven Cottage. As a result, he was recently dropped for the clash with Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday 2 September.
Captain Son Heung-min was preferred through the middle, and Richarlison’s chances of getting back into the team weren’t done any favours as the South Korea international hit a hattrick.
Now, it appears as if his fortunes have gone from bad to worse while away with Brazil. As reported by talkSPORT (9 September), the striker was left in tears on the bench as he was substituted off during his nation’s 5-1 win over Bolivia, during which he once again failed to find the back of the net.
He was replaced in the 70th minute after a stunning miss 20 minutes earlier.

As seen in the image above, the 26-year-old found himself in the box with the goal gaping in front of him, after some quick work to take the ball past a defender.

Nonetheless, he failed to convert, missing the target entirely.
It was once again a poor performance overall. While his fellow attacking teammates were all awarded ratings of 9.0 or above, he stood out, receiving just a 6.1 (Sofascore).
He missed two big chances, had just 15 touches, and gave the ball away four times. Spurs fans will need to rally around their man who will continue to need support with the pressure on his shoulders only getting stronger.
A home match against Sheffield United awaits his club when the international break comes to an end, and hopefully for Richarlison, he will have the opportunity to get on the pitch, hear his name sung around the ground, grab a goal and get back on track.
In other Tottenham news, a teammate of the Brazil international has also failed to deliver while away with his nation.
