View: Tottenham need Harry Kane more than they know as another record broken v Leeds United
Harry Kane has been the leading man at Tottenham for quite some time now, with supporters desperate for the striker to stay at the club for another season.
But for several reasons, he may be forced to head for pastures new this summer, with Manchester United keen on his signature, according to Sky Sports (26 May).
Comparisons can be drawn to West Ham ace Declan Rice, with the midfielder definitely deserving of a step up next season after impressing for many years at the Hammers.
Tottenham may not be in as bad a position in the table as their London rivals, but it seems that Kane won’t be satisfied with another mediocre finish, with his club having to settle for eighth place this season.
That comes despite the star striker banging in 30 goals from his 38 Premier League matches, with only Manchester City icon Erling Haaland (36) scoring more.
Both strikers, however, hit plenty of milestones, with Kane’s definitely more impressive in terms of team play, with Haaland playing alongside more talented players at Manchester City.
Nonetheless, Kane hit his 350th senior career goal in the 4-1 win against Leeds United on Sunday (28 May), where he became the first player to have more than one run of scoring in six+ successive away Premier League appearances, as per Sky Sports Statto.
Moreover, the lethal forward scored in 26 different Premier League matches throughout the season, the joint-most games any player has scored in within a single campaign in the competition, along with Andrew Cole in 1993-94, as per OptaJoe.
Kane’s feats are made more impressive given how Cole needed 42 matches to achieve the feat.
These heights really are phenomenal, but one can only imagine how much Kane could excel further if he was to be playing for a club constantly challenging for major silverware.
He even demonstrated his defensive abilities along with his two goals in the win against Leeds, making three clearances throughout the afternoon, as per SofaScore.
