View: Tottenham must stick with Fraser Forster v Everton as Hugo Lloris returns

Tottenham travel to Goodison Park on Monday 03 April to take on Everton in the Premier League in what promises to be a huge evening for the club.

After Newcastle swept Manchester United aside on Sunday 02 April by two goals to nil, Spurs currently sit one point behind both sides in fifth spot.

Three points would send the Londoners up into third, and although they will have played two more games than their nearest rivals in the race for the Champions League.

The big team news from the Spurs camp is that Hugo Lloris will be available for action, although whether he comes straight back in is up for debate.

Fraser Forster has deputised for the French international during his injury issues, and the giant stopper would feel hard done by not to keep his spot on Merseyside.

Looking at the two stoppers this season, Forster may just suit a trip to Goodison Park to take on Sean Dyche’s men.

The 35-year-old has a better pass success rate according to WhoScored, with 80.2% of his passes finding their intended target in the Spurs side.

Lloris plays considerably more long balls when in the side [4.6], something that may not be effective against a towering Everton defence and team which loves the long ball.

Foster can use his more effective passing to keep the ball on the deck and kickstart attacks, rather than watching Lloris kick the ball forward long with not much hope.

Tottenham need to keep the ball and increase the pressure with each passing moment at Goodison Park with Everton starting the night in the bottom three.

If they continue to go long and let that pressure ease, the Toffees could start to get themselves into the game, something that cannot be allowed to happen.

Forster will be hoping his number one spot is safe for now, although it may now be a matter of time before Lloris comes back to claim his space back in the side.
