View: Tottenham must get rid of Lucas Moura after season-worst display v Everton
Tottenham somehow returned to the top four of the Premier League on Monday 03 April, despite putting in yet another dreadful display in the 1-1 draw with Everton.
Cristian Stellini managed to look even worst than Antonio Conte with his decision-making and tactics, handing so much ground to a relegation-threatened side with 10 men.
Of course, Spurs also finished one man down with Lucas Moura getting his marching orders and showing exactly why he must be shown the exit door this summer.
The Brazilian managed six minutes of action before he was rightly sent off for a dreadfully timed challenge on the ankle of Michael Keane, who went on to score the equaliser.
Moura has managed 12 appearances in the Premier League this season, with every single last one of them coming from the bench as a substitute – none more than 45 minutes.
This was easily the worst of them.
Lucas managed six minutes at Goodison Park, finishing with 33.3% passing accuracy despite playing against one less man during his time on the field [WhoScored].
On top of that, he managed zero shots, key passes or dribbles – making his contribution simply pointless, especially after signing Arnaut Danjuma, who has been given no chance whatsoever.
It does not get much better reading when looking at his entire season.
Lucas averages 0.1 shots on goal per match, with his key passes and dribbles sitting at 0.3, meaning he only tends to make somewhat of an impact in one of every three games.
Comparing that to last season where he started 19 games in 34 total appearances in the Premier League, you can see that his contribution is no longer needed.
Signing from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2017-18 season, the Brazilian will no doubt be on big wages, and for someone who is making zero impact, that has to be reassessed.
The exit door is creeping, it is time someone held it open.
