Tottenham predicted XI vs Brentford: Thomas Frank axes two regulars to save his job
Tottenham face Brentford on Saturday afternoon as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
Cristian Romero somehow scored twice in spectacular fashion as Tottenham rescued a 2-2 draw at Newcastle on Tuesday evening.
However, the Lilywhites are now winless in five games across all competitions and have dropped down to 11th in the Premier League.
The North London side needs to turn around their form very quickly to avoid being cut adrift in the Champions League race.
Thomas Frank set to make drastic Tottenham changes
Frank’s future at Tottenham remains in doubt, and he could be set to make some big changes to his starting line-up for the Brentford game.
It will be the first time the Dane has faced his former club on 6 December, and he will want to avoid serious ridicule with a negative result.
Rodrigo Bentancur was abysmal against Newcastle and will likely be dropped to the bench by Frank, along with fellow central midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.
The Uruguayan lost possession nine times at St James’ Park and failed to create anything significant with his 38 successful passes and 58 touches, via Sofascore.
That will allow Joao Palhinha to return to the starting line-up, as well as Archie Gray, who was superb against Paris Saint-Germain in Tottenham’s recent Champions League game.

Elsewhere, Micky van de Ven will surely return in the centre of defence, with Kevin Danso dropping out of the team.
With Dominic Solanke still out, Frank will be forced to stick with Randal Kolo Muani up front.
Pape Matar Sarr was poor against Newcastle
Sarr struggled in the centre of midfield away at Newcastle, and it is time for Frank to give someone else a chance.
Tottenham have had big problems creating chances in recent games, and the Senegalese international is part of the reason why.
| Stats | Sarr vs Newcastle |
| Successful dribbles | 0/2 (0%) |
| Successful long balls | 0/2 (0%) |
| Possession lost | 11 |
| Shots | 0 |
| Expected assists (xA) | 0.07 |
Away at St James’ Park, Sarr didn’t complete a single dribble and gave the ball away 11 times in total.
He also only racked up 0.07 expected assists, proving that he is not providing the creative spark that Spurs desperately need.
Not only that, it could save Frank’s job.
