Tottenham player leaves Sky Sports shocked after ‘unbelievable’ moment vs Sunderland

Thomas Frank faced more disappointment as Tottenham drew 1-1 against Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday.

Regis Le Bris’ team secured a point at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 4 January, with Brian Brobbey’s lethal strike in the 80th minute cancelling out Ben Davies’ first-half goal.

Frank has been under pressure at Spurs for a while, and sitting 13th in the table after 20 games doesn’t help his cause.

Most players have stepped up for the Danish manager in recent weeks, and some of the mistakes that were made against the Black Cats were amateurish.

Lucas Bergvall guilty of foul throw in Tottenham vs Sunderland

Lucas Bergvall made the most baffling of errors against Sunderland towards the end of the game.

The Sweden international seemed to be in two minds and ended up being penalised for a foul throw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Gary Taphouse and Andy Reid couldn’t believe what they saw live on air from the 19-year-old midfielder during commentary, in what will go down as an embarrassing moment for the youngster.

Speaking on Sky Sports on 4 January, Taphouse said, “Bergvall with a foul throw. That’s unbelievable,” and Reid responded, “You don’t see that often. That’s really, really poor.”

Spurs have a great record at home against Sunderland, but Frank’s team were unable to capitalise on it.

The North London outfit are showing no signs of improvement under the Danish manager, and questions will continue to be asked of him in N17.

Lucas Bergvall stats flatter to deceive vs Sunderland

Liverpool are eyeing a mega deal for Bergvall, but the Swedish star hasn’t been at his best this season.

Against Sunderland, the Tottenham youngster came on in place of Wilson Odobert for the final 18 minutes of the game, recording 11 touches and completing seven of his eight passes, with 80 per cent passing accuracy in the opposition half, as per Sofascore.

Bergvall completed one of his dribbles, winning one tackle, two of his three ground duels and making one recovery.

The former Djurgardens ace lost possession twice and was dribbled past once, with his substitution failing to make much of an impact for Spurs.
