Tottenham: Ange Postecoglou must recall Rodrigo Bentancur v Crystal Palace after what he did
Tottenham suffered a hugely disappointing defeat at home to Wolves on Saturday (17 February), much to the shock of the majority watching on.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosted the clash, with the visitors leaving North London with all three points thanks to a stunning display.
A Joao Gomes double was the difference between the sides, with the Wolves midfielder netting either side of a Dejan Kulusevski strike.
Postecoglou will still be analysing the defeat to see where his team went wrong, but much of the damage was undoubtedly done in midfield.
Gomes was allowed far too much space as he controlled the match in the middle, helped out by teammate Mario Lemina.
The former undoubtedly stole the spotlight, with BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks naming Gomes in his Premier League Team of the Week for his efforts in North London [BBC Sport, 19 February].
But the midfield man could have been stopped in his tracks early doors had Postecoglou opted to start Rodrigo Bentancur.
The Uruguayan has had a difficult time this season with injuries, but he was handed minutes against Wolves, coming on as a 71st-minute substitute for Pepe Matar Sarr.
The damage was already done by the visitors at that stage, but Bentancur still impressed, winning his only duel (100%) as well as making one clearance [Sofascore].
The midfield man also registered two key passes, level with star man James Maddison and just one behind top-of-the-pile Ben Davies with three.

In his last Premier League start against Brighton, Bentancur was solid in defence, completing a clearance, block, interception and two tackles.
Compare that to Sarr against Wolves and you can see the clear difference, as he completed none of the above and was dribbled past twice [SofaScore].
Tottenham now have the chance to bounce back when they host Crystal Palace at the beginning of March, a match in which Postecoglou must recall Bentancur to the starting XI to boost their chances of winning.
In other Tottenham news, there is no way back for one loanee under Postecoglou after a recent 67% shocker.
