Tim Sherwood reacts instantly as Tottenham told perfect caretaker ready to step in
Tim Sherwood has been put forward for a possible Tottenham caretaker role if Thomas Frank is dismissed in the coming weeks.
Frank is under huge pressure at Spurs with the North London side having picked up just one win in their last seven Premier League games.
The Dane did find some respite in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, though, as Tottenham beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0.
Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke both grabbed first-half goals, either side of a Daniel Svensson red card, as the Lilywhites cruised to a much-needed victory.
Tim Sherwood responds to Tottenham interim claims
Despite the win over Dortmund, a result that pushes Spurs up to fifth in the Champions League group phase, many supporters still want Frank to be sacked.
Tottenham sit a lowly 14th in the Premier League table, and some believe that the only way to address their horrific top-flight form is to dismiss the Dane.

Earlier this week, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara revealed that he would want Sherwood to come in as interim manager until the end of the season.
Sherwood was then asked about O’Hara’s opinion on Sky Sports and quizzed on whether he would accept the job.
He said: “Hypothetical, obviously, but if they were to get rid of Frank and come back to me, I would have some questions.
“If they said to me, ‘we want you to play a more attacking style of football and score some more goals’, I’d be able to achieve that.
“I couldn’t guarantee them Champions League, but if they said to me, ‘get us Europa League’, then yeah, I’d be willing to do that job.”

How does Tim Sherwood compare to Thomas Frank?
Sherwood was appointed manager of Tottenham back in December 2013 after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked.
The 56-year-old guided Spurs to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League for the 2013-14 campaign, but was dismissed himself just two days later.
However, over the course of his time in charge of the North London side, Sherwood did considerably better than Frank is doing right now.

Sherwood recorded a points per game ratio of 1.64 from 28 games, compared to Frank’s 1.33 from 33 outings.
One big problem Spurs have had this season is their form at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Sherwood’s home win rate was four times better than Frank’s is at the moment.
For now, though, the North London hierarchy seem to be sticking with the Dane.
