Randal Kolo Muani set up to fail at Tottenham as unwanted record extends vs Chelsea
Randal Kolo Muani is yet to register a single shot in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham signed Kolo Muani from PSG on loan over the summer, but the striker was sidelined for the Lilywhites due to fitness issues days after his arrival.
Kolo Muani earned his first start for Tottenham in their 3-0 win over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But despite being an experienced, proven star, the French international is yet to show his class in North London.

The biggest reason behind Randal Kolo Muani’s Tottenham woes
There was optimism when Thomas Frank opted to start Kolo Muani against Chelsea.
Indeed, Tottenham’s recent games against Chelsea have gone on to define their season, and it was hoped the forward could turn the Lilywhites’ fate around.
However, like his last two games in the Premier League, Kolo Muani failed to register a single shot against the Blues. The feat makes it zero shots in three league games for the striker.
As per Sofascore, other than his back-to-goal play, the striker has little to show for his time in a Spurs shirt.
- He has accumulated 0.13 expected goals
- Kolo Muani has averaged 12.3 touches per game
- His passes have been 88 per cent accurate
But given the minimal chances created for him, Kolo Muani is the last person to blame for his slow start. In fact, it can even be said that he’s been set up to fail at Tottenham.

How does Randal Kolo Muani compare to Richarlison?
Richarlison has faced great criticism at Tottenham after his goals began to dry up after August.
In his last three Premier League starts, the Brazilian has taken six shots, one of which has resulted in a goal.
The interesting part is that five of those shots came against Brighton, which was the last time he netted in the Premier League. Coincidentally, he also had five attempts against Burnley, where he scored two goals.

The stats speak for themselves. Spurs are a team that struggles to create, and their forwards are forced to suffer the consequences.
What’s the verdict?
Tottenham are not structured in a manner which allows their forwards to shine and score goals.
Even looking at Frank’s decision after Lucas Bergvall was substituted against the Blues, minutes into the first half.
The Dane brought on Xavi Simons as a direct replacement. This resulted in the Dutch international playing much deeper and being unable to penetrate Chelsea’s midfield.
Having a natural 10 play deep in the midfield pretty much sums up the flaws in Frank’s system. And if it continues like this, scoring goals won’t be the only issue for the 52-year-old moving forward.
