‘Postecoglou in Son Heung-min blow’ – Tottenham confirmed XI v Wolves
Ange Postecoglou has made six changes to his Tottenham side as they face Wolves in a return to Premier League action on Sunday.
The Lilywhites will be hopeful of securing a win to build a positive run of form ahead of their Europa League quarter-final second leg against Frankfurt on Thursday (17 April).
This won’t be easy against an Old Gold side who have won their last three Premier League games and could win a club-record fourth at Molineux on 13 April.
With the Europa League in mind, Postecoglou has made an unsurprising number of changes, but starting Son Heung-min could prove to be an error.

Tottenham confirmed XI v Wolves
Changes haven’t come as a shock in North London and even less so to see Guglielmo Vicario starting in goal after his one save and 94 per cent pass accuracy in the Europa League [FotMob].
Ahead of the Italian, Postecoglou has welcomed Djed Spence back into the side for Destiny Udogie, who came off injured after winning four duels against the Bundesliga outfit.
The Englishman is set to lineup alongside Cristian Romero, who has kept his place while Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro have been replaced by Ben Davies and Archie Gray at the back.
Another two changes have been utilised in the middle of the park as Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma have come in alongside James Maddison to replace Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall despite the latter keeping up a 95 per cent pass accuracy last time out.
Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke have kept their places in the side despite the Wales international having just 31 touches against Frankfurt.
Son has missed out on the squad entirely, with Mathys Tel coming in, despite creating the most chances of the match with two against the German side while maintaining an 86 pass completion, and another start could have seen him build on that.
Tottenham need to win v Wolves
Unfortunately for Spurs, their season in the Premier League is all but done, and the Europa League is all that matters right now.
Position | Club | Games played | Tottenham | Points |
15. | Tottenham | 31 | +13 | 37 |
16. | West Ham | 31 | -17 | 35 |
17. | Wolves | 31 | -16 | 32 |
With that being said, the clash against Wolves has to act as a dress rehearsal for the upcoming Frankfurt game up next week, given how much importance is riding on that game.
This won’t be easy against a side who has been in such good form like the Old Gold, so Postecoglou will have to hope for the best from his players like Son.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the Lilywhites perform and how they can set themselves up for a clash in Germany in mid-week.
