Pape Sarr suffers embarrassment despite Tottenham Europa League victory
Tottenham are fighting to save their season in the Europa League final against Manchester United.
Ange Postecoglou’s side has taken a vital lead at Bilbao thanks to Brennan Johnson’s opener.
Spurs are now a step closer to securing their first trophy since 2008 and returning to the Champions League once again.
However, despite the positives of the first half, Pape Sarr’s performance was questionable as one horrific statistic came to light.

Pape Sarr takes almost 40 minutes to make a successful pass in Europa League final
It was a nervous start in the Europa League final for Tottenham.
Neither side could really get a foothold in the match as mistakes were being made left, right, and centre.
As a result, plenty of Spurs’ players were having poor games, and no one was perhaps worse in the opening 40 minutes than Sarr.
The attacking midfielder struggled to have an effect on the match in a positive manner.
BBC Sport (21 May) pointed out that it took Sarr almost 40 minutes to make a successful pass, by far the longest out of any player on the pitch.
This wasn’t due to a lack of trying, with the 22-year-old attempting numerous passes, only to see them fail.

Pape Sarr becomes Tottenham hero despite dreadful stat
While in the first 40 minutes, Sarr was less than impressive, the attacking midfielder made up for his lacklustre display with a hand in Tottenham’s opener.
The 22-year-old whipped the ball into the box, which led to Johnson’s opener in the final.
While the cross wasn’t the best, the intent was all that mattered in the end, as Tottenham took a vital lead into the second half.
There is no doubt that if the trophy is lifted, Sarr will become a hero for his part to play in the victory.
Hopefully, he can continue to have a big part to play and his first half performance will quickly be forgotten by the Tottenham faithful.
