Pape Sarr struggles massively as 9/10 faultless – Tottenham player ratings vs Copenhagen

Tottenham finally secured another home victory as they beat Copenhagen 4-0 on Tuesday night.

The Lilywhites were winless in their last three home games, with their last victory on home turf coming against Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup back in September.

Brennan Johnson had an eventful night for Tottenham, as he netted the opener in the 19th minute, before he was then sent off just before the hour mark.

Wilson Odobert gave the hosts a valuable cushion at the start of the second half, before a stunner from Micky van de Ven and a ruthless finish from Joao Palhinha put the result beyond doubt.

It was a hugely important victory for the North Londoners, and with that in mind, Tottenham News rates the performances of every single Spurs player.

Pape Sarr very poor for Tottenham vs Copenhagen

Pape Sarr has had a bright start for Tottenham in the early stages of the campaign, but he showcased the areas of his game that still need some work on Tuesday night.

The Senegal international brings a superb energy for his team in the middle of the park, but his technique can occasionally let him down, and that was the case against Copenhagen.

The midfielder struggled to make an impact on the game, as he managed just one key pass and failed to complete either of his attempted dribbles

Sarr gave the ball away 11 times during the game and struggled to have any sort of positive effect for his team.

The 23-year-old was a little too loose in possession, and with that in mind, he was worthy of little more than a 5/10 rating.

Rodrigo Bentancur simply faultless in the midfield

Bentancur was preferred to Palhinha for Tottenham in the middle of the park, and he rewarded Frank with a remarkable performance in the comfortable victory.

The former Juventus man robbed the visitors of possession in the build-up to the opener, and he showed his quality on the ball on countless occasions throughout the night.

The 28-year-old is a silky operator with the ball at his feet, and he controlled the game in the first half.

Copenhagen couldn’t get near him during the opening period, and it was no exaggeration to suggest that he hardly gave the ball away at all during the game.

He won 100 per cent of his ground duels during the game, and also completed an eye-catching six defensive actions.
