Lucas Bergvall horrific, as 9/10 steals the show – Tottenham player ratings vs Monaco
Tottenham secured a hard-fought point in the Champions League thanks to a 0-0 draw with Monaco on Wednesday night.
The Lilywhites were second best for large parts of the game and their hosts had several clear-cut opportunities to find the back of the net and snatch all three points.
Archie Gray made his Champions League debut for Tottenham, as Thomas Frank named a relatively youthful starting XI for the trip to the French Riviera.
Despite offering little going forward, Frank’s men worked hard to hang on to their clean sheet, and with that in mind, Tottenham News rates the performances of every Spurs player.

Lucas Bergvall has a horrible night for Tottenham
Lucas Bergvall has been a standout player for Tottenham in the early stages of the campaign, as he continues to go from strength to strength in North London.
However, the youngster was simply miles away from his best this time around against Monaco.
He was ineffective with the ball and was often caught out by trying to take the difficult option, when opportunities to create were few and far between all night.
Stats | Bergvall Total |
Touches | 16 |
Accurate Passes | 6/7 (86%) |
Duels Won | 1/2 (50%) |
Possession Lost | 5 |
Shots | – |
Bergvall completed just six accurate passes during his time on the pitch, and won just 50 per cent of his duels in a performance that was not at the lofty standards that he has set for himself this term.

That was recognised by his manager, who dragged him off on the hour mark. It was a frustrating night for the Swede, and he was worthy of little more than a 3/10 rating.
Guglielmo Vicario steals the show vs Monaco
Guglielmo Vicario has come under fire at Tottenham for his recent performances, but he reminded everybody what he could do at the Stade Louis II.
Frank and his team wouldn’t have wanted to be as reliant on their goalkeeper as they ultimately were, but they will be hugely grateful to Vicario for the role that he played to get them a point.
He made several crucial saves to keep the hosts at bay in the first half, and he returned to being the reliable presence that fans and teammates have come to expect in N17.
Spurs simply wouldn’t have come away with anything to show for their efforts without his intervention’s and he stole the show with a stunning goals prevented total of 2.68.

As a result, Vicario deserves the highest rating of any Tottenham player, with an 9/10 rating fitting for his impressive display.
