View: Tottenham Women predicted XI v Everton Women – One change, Iwabuchi to return

Interim manager Vicky Jepson is predicted to make one change to the Tottenham Women starting line-up for Sunday’s WSL clash against Everton Women.

Spurs head to Walton Hall Park on 2 April with the aim of bouncing back from last week’s 5-1 humiliation at the hands of Arsenal and to move further away from the WSL’s relegation zone.

Jepson is expected to bring Mana Iwabuchi back into the side after the Japanese loanee was ineligible to play against her parent club Arsenal last time out.

Iwabuchi, 30, could replace Drew Spence to start alongside Beth England in the Spurs attack.

The rest of Jepson’s team could be unchanged.

Tinja-Riikka Korpela is predicted to start in goals behind a back-four of Ashleigh Neville, Amy Turner, Molly Bartrip and Kerys Harrop.

Angharad James and Eveliina Summanen may start in the centre of the midfield together with Celin Ildhusoy on the right-wing and Rosella Ayane on the opposite flank.

England, 28, scored Spurs’ consolation goal against Arsenal to take her WSL goal tally to five this season.

She and Iwabuchi could be chosen to lead the line in Spurs’ bid to get back to winning ways.

As it stands, Tottenham Women are ninth in the WSL, one point clear of 10th-placed Reading, three ahead of Brighton in 11th and five ahead of hapless Leicester, who are bottom in 12th.

After this trip to Everton, managerless Spurs face a mixed run of fixture that sees them welcome Aston Villa and Brighton to North London, an away day at Manchester United, a final home game versus Reading and then a last-day trip to West Ham.
