View: Three Tottenham Women stars to look out for during the upcoming World Cup
The Women’s World Cup is fast approaching and will feature some Tottenham Women stars worth keeping an eye on.
Multiple stars from the Spurs women’s team are set to compete in Australia and New Zealand during the tournament as they represent their respective nations down under.
Joint-host nation New Zealand will get the competition underway on Thursday 20 July as they take on Norway in Group A and Ria Percival will be among the Kiwis who get the festivities started.

As well as Percival, there are a host of other stars from Spurs to keep an eye on with three in particular who could write headlines this summer.
Rosella Ayane
Named as the Moroccan of the World award winner in the Sports category this past May, Ayane will look to build on that when she pulls on her nation’s jersey at this year’s tournament.
It is a first-ever appearance for the African nation at the Women’s World Cup as they will look to emulate the success their male counterparts experienced in December when they became the first African nation to reach a men’s World Cup final four.
Although considered outsiders in the women’s tournament, that will not stop Ayane’s side from looking to cause an upset after they finished runners-up at the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations.

Any success at the tournament is likely to be inspired by the Spurs forward, one of the country’s key players, who scored in last year’s final against South Africa in the Cup of Nations as well as the winning penalty in the semi-final against Nigeria.
With nine goals in 21 appearances for the Atlas Lionesses, she will be looking to add to her tally and is one to keep an eye on.
Beth England
After winning the 2022 Women’s European Championship and inspiring a generation of young girls across the country, England and the Lionesses will be looking to go one step further this summer.
By winning this year’s World Cup they could catapult the momentum of the women’s game within England to a whole new level and England, who was part of the Euros winning squad, will be hoping to contribute where she can this time after not getting on the pitch during the tournament last summer.
She will also be looking to make a point after getting dropped by her nation prior to the tournament as she has now been recalled to the squad following her upturn in fortunes after her switch from Chelsea to Tottenham.

Even if the Spurs striker doesn’t start, there will hopefully be opportunities for England to make an impact off the bench and write history once again, this time all the way on the other side of the world.
Drew Spence
Making the switch to represent Jamaica in 2021 after having previously played for England, Spence will be a key player for the Reggae Girls this summer.
This will be Jamaica’s second-ever appearance at the tournament after they became the first-ever Caribbean nation to appear at a Women’s World Cup in 2019. They didn’t make it out of the groups on that occasion and will be hoping to go one better this time.
Spence’s addition could very well help them do that after the midfielder was named in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship best eleven last summer.
In other Tottenham news, the club could regret missing out on the potential signing of a talented youngster.
