View: Multiple Tottenham Women stars could be set for World Cup glory with their nation
Six Tottenham Women’s stars will be heading off to Australasia later this month to compete in the ninth edition of the Women’s World Cup.
It is now just less than three weeks until the tournament kicks off on Thursday 20 July and it promises to be the biggest and most exciting Women’s World Cup to date.
32 nations will battle for global glory as 64 matches take place across both Australia and New Zealand. The United States will be looking to make it three in a row and win their fifth World Cup overall.

As reported by The Telegraph (26 June) they are favourites to do so while England, who are second favourites, will look to dethrone the States and build on their historic 2022 Euros win.
Bethany England is one of Tottenham’s representatives in the competition as she makes her return to Sarina Wiegman’s side. The European champions are in Group D and begin with a match against Haiti in Brisbane on 22 July. Euro 2022’s player of the tournament Beth Mead will not feature after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in December.
Yet the Lioneeses will still be confident of getting out of a group which also contains Denmark and China.
Co-host nation New Zealand will take part in the first match of the tournament as they welcome Norway to Eden Park on opening day. A veteran of the national side, Spurs’ Ria Percival has made the squad after returning from injury as she gets set to make her fifth World Cup appearance.

Besides their clash with Norway, the Kiwis will also play against the Philippines and Switzerland as they look to qualify from Group A.
Shelina Zadrosky, Drew Spence, Rebecca Spencer and Rosella Ayane are all also in line to make appearances.
Zadorsky has been a part of Canada’s Preparation Camp Roster. Canada will take on Nigeria, the Republic of Ireland and co-hosts Australia in their group.
As for Ayane, the Moroccan international will be hoping to complete a similar miracle to the one their male counterparts achieved in December when they became the first African side to reach a men’s World Cup Semi-Final. Her group stage journey includes matches against Germany, South Korea and Colombia.
Spence and Spencer meanwhile have been preparing alongside their Jamicain teammates as the Reggae Girls prepare for their second appearance at the World Cup, after becoming the first Caribbean nation to appear at the tournament in 2019. They will look to escape a group featuring France, Panama and Brazil.
In other Tottenham news, England has gone into more detail on how her move away from Chelsea helped her ahead of the Women’s World Cup.
