Tottenham Women boss Robert Vilahamn trims his squad as Shelina Zadorsky joins West Ham United Women on loan
Tottenham Women star Shelina Zadorsky has been a big part of the club over the years, but her future now looks to lie elsewhere, at least for the remainder of the season.
It has been a largely positive campaign and start to life in England for Tottenham Women head coach, Robert Vilahamn.
The Swede has got his squad playing some slick football and helped the club to record arguably their biggest-ever victory, as they won their first north London derby by beating Arsenal Women 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 16 December.

However, one player who has not been very involved in this success is Canada international Zadorsky, who has now made the switch to Spurs’ London rivals, West Ham United Women.
Tottenham confirmed via their official X account (3 January) that Zadorsky will join the WSL side on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
Having joined Spurs on loan from Orlando Pride in 2020, Zadorsky made her stay in north London permanent in 2021, and captained Tottenham throughout the 2021/22 season as they recorded their highest-ever WSL finish.
She has been a key player over the past three years, making 72 appearances and scoring twice, but has seen her playing time reduced dramatically since the arrival of Vilahamn.
The centre-back has made just two WSL appearances this season, with both of those appearances coming in the club’s heaviest defeats of the campaign.
Zadorsky was brought on as a substitute in the 7-0 loss away at Manchester City Women on 26 November, where she helped to steady the ship, with Spurs conceding just one goal in the half an hour after she came onto the pitch.
She then started the following match against Manchester United Women, a 4-0 home defeat on 10 December, where she struggled playing out of position at left-back, winning just three of her seven ground duels, losing both of her aerial duels and completing just 60 per cent of her passes (Sofascore).

Zadorsky has started two of the club’s three FA Women’s League Cup matches this season, helping her side to keep clean sheets in both, which demonstrates that she still certainly has some quality to offer.
That quality just doesn’t look to be enough for Vilahamn, who now seems to be marking his stamp on his Tottenham squad in the January transfer window.
In other Tottenham news, the club’s women’s team have already confirmed the signings of two international stars so far this month.
