
Tottenham Women announce the signing of Czech Republic goalkeeper Barbora Votikova
Following the arrivals of Luana Buhler and Olga Ahtinen, the club have moved swiftly to announce the arrival of another international star to add to the ranks of Tottenham Women.
Despite the signing of Ahtinen being officially announced just one day prior on Wednesday 16 August, Spurs’ ladies have wasted no time announcing their next bit of transfer business, with goalkeeper Barbora Votikova becoming the squad’s latest addition.
Votikova’s arrival was revealed on the club’s official website, as well as via Twitter (17 August), and marks yet another exciting international talent to walk through the doors at Hotspur Way this summer.

Quality is certainly being added to new head coach Robert Vilahamn’s team, with Votikova and Ahtinen both joining the likes of Switzerland international defender Luana Buhler and on-loan Manchester United youngster Grace Clinton at Spurs during the ongoing transfer window.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who has signed a two-year deal in North London, brings a wealth of experience, both at club and international level. She has been handed the number one shirt, which signifies the importance of her arrival.
Born in Plzen, Czech Republic, Votikova began her career at Viktoria Plzen and made her senior debut for the club 10 years ago. She would spend one year with the first team before moving to Slavia Prague, which would become her home for an incredibly successful seven years.
Her honours included four Women’s First League titles, and a Czech Women’s Cup, while she also helped the club reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on three occasions throughout her stay.
All of these successes in her home country earned her a switch to PSG, where she was nominated for the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year award in her debut season, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League with the club in her second year.
Her experience, which includes 38 caps for her country, added to her relatively young age, sees her arrive in the WSL with the perfect blend of know-how as well as room to develop.
