Tottenham Women ace Eveliina Summanen must start FA Cup final v Manchester United Women

Eveliina Summanen has demonstrated to Robert Vilahamn that he has no other option but to start the midfielder in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final.

All focus for Vilahamn and his players will now be on Wembley and a showdown with Manchester United Women on Sunday 12 May.

Spurs are set for a sixth-place finish in the Barclays Women’s Super League following their 2-2 draw with Everton Women on Saturday 4 May.

And Summanen proved that afternoon that she must start on Sunday.

Robert Vilahamn must start Drew Spence and Evelinna Summanen for Tottenham Hotspur Women in the FA Cup final

While they didn’t claim all three points against the Toffees, it means very little in the grand scheme of things.

However, for Summanen, it was an opportunity to prove that she must start in the FA Cup final, an opportunity which she grasped with both hands.

As per Sofascore, in addition to her assist, the 25-year-old played three key passes, won 100 per cent of her ground duels and succeeded with 100 per cent of her dribbles, while making three tackles against Everton.

It was a performance which proved she must start alongside Drew Spence, who was also excellent against the Blues.

Spence grabbed a goal and an assist, completed 96 per cent of her passes, and hit the woodwork.

If both midfielders put in a similar performance against United, the FA Cup trophy could be headed back to North London.
