Tottenham forward signs three-year contract as official announcement made
Robert Vilahamn has been handed a much-needed boost after a Tottenham Women forward signed a new three-year contract in North London.
Spurs ended their Barclays Women’s Super League season with a 1-1 draw against Everton at The Walton Hall Park Football Pitch on Saturday, 10 May, which confirmed an 11th-place finish for the Lilywhites.
The end of the disappointing campaign could not come soon enough for the under-pressure Vilahamn, who last guided his side to a win in late January.
Although it is unclear whether Vilahamn will remain in charge, Tottenham have already started securing deals for their squad next season.

Lenna Gunning-Williams signs a new three-year contract
Tottenham officially announced on Monday (19 May) that academy graduate Gunning-Williams has signed a new contract which will see her remain in North London until 2028.
Gunning-Williams has had only limited exposure to the first team this season, clocking a total of 155 minutes in the WSL without registering a start.
The 20-year-old forward has nonetheless made an impression, with her contract extension pointing to Tottenham’s larger strategy to place their faith in youth following their commitment to Eleanor Heeps.
Equally, Spurs will take heart from the fact that young players are still eager to play for the club despite their difficult season.
Tottenham will hope that Gunning-Williams can develop into a prolific forward, as goal-scoring has been an issue for the Lilywhites, who only found the back of the net in five of their last ten games.
Vilahamn dilemma is the main issue for Tottenham
Vilahamn only signed a three-year contract extension last summer after guiding Tottenham to the Women’s FA Cup final in his first season in charge. However, the Swede has struggled to replicate that form this season.
Teams | Position | Wins | Draw | Losses | Points |
West Ham | 9 | 6 | 5 | 11 | 23 |
Leicester City | 10 | 5 | 5 | 12 | 20 |
Tottenham | 11 | 5 | 5 | 12 | 20 |
Crystal Palace | 12 | 2 | 4 | 16 | 10 |
Spurs’ depth, particularly in attacking areas, has been questioned, though Vilahamn will know he should have done better with the players at his disposal.
The 42-year-old’s inability to get the best out of Jessica Naz and Martha Thomas, who only scored one WSL goal between them this season, has been deemed a failure and could prove crucial to the final decision.
