Robert Vilahamn to count on Eleanor Heeps for Tottenham Women in 2025

Tottenham Women goalkeeper Eleanor Heeps has burst onto the scene in North London.

Before the emergence of Heeps, Robert Vilahamn’s side had conceded 22 goals in their first nine games of the season.

However, since the 21-year-old has come into the side, Spurs have conceded just twice in four games, with Heeps yet to be on the losing side in a Tottenham shirt.

And while some of the more experienced players in the team, such as Beth England, have helped inspire this upturn in Spurs’ form, it is hard to imagine that they would be unbeaten in their past four games if not for Heeps’ heroics.

Therefore, it is clear that the shot-stopper will be a big part of Vilahamn’s plans in the second part of the season.

Robert Vilahamn to rely on Tottenham Women goalkeeper Eleanor Heeps?

Heeps kept a clean sheet on her Tottenham Women debut as the North London side made it two wins from two in the Women’s League Cup group stage with a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa Women at Brisbane Road on Saturday 23 November.

The shot-stopper hardly put a foot wrong, making five saves, with two of those coming from inside the penalty area [Sofascore].

In addition, 100 per cent of Heeps’ passes were accurate, as were all five of the long balls which she played.

She once again completed 100 per cent of her passes in her third game for the club, keeping another clean sheet in a 2-0 Women’s League Cup group stage win over Crystal Palace Women at Borough Sports Ground on Wednesday 11 December.

However, she saved perhaps her most impressive performance for the club to date for a 1-1 Barclays Women’s Super League draw with Brighton Women at Broadfield Stadium on Saturday 14 December.

Heeps made eight saves, with five of those coming from shots faced from inside the box. In addition, she displayed her dominance by making three punches and one high claim. She also managed to make three clearances and help her defenders out.

Therefore, it is clear that Vilahamn won’t be dropping the youngster anytime soon.

And as long as Heeps continues to perform as she is, there is no reason why Spurs can’t go far this year.

In other Tottenham news, the club could have a replacement for one injured player lined up already.
