Robert Vilahamn to be buzzing after what Tottenham Women gems did
Tottenham Women have been in mixed form during Robert Vilahamn’s second season in charge.
The North London side remain sixth in the Barclays Women’s Super League after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Manchester United Women at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 2 February.
Despite this, there is still plenty for Spurs to be positive about, including the emergence of 21-year-old goalkeeper Eleanor Heeps.
She has since been replaced between the sticks by 26-year-old Lize Kop, who was signed from Leicester City Women in January as Spurs continue to look at opportunities to strengthen.
In addition to Heeps, Vilahamn has a host of other talented young players at his disposal, with two of those players recently making an impact on the international stage.
Tottenham Women’s Zara Bailey and Jhanaie Pierre ones to watch
Jessica Naz is flying the flag for Tottenham Women by representing England Women.
And it appears as though Zara Bailey and Jhanaie Pierre could soon follow in the 24-year-old’s footsteps after both were on target for England Women’s Under-17s on Thursday (13 February).
The Tottenham Women academy duo started for the Young Lionesses at the Pinatar Arena in Spain, scoring late goals in a 3-1 win over Czech Republic Women’s Under-17s to ensure back-to-back wins in the MIMA Cup.
Both players also featured in the opening game of the tournament, as England secured a 2-1 victory over Canada Women’s Under-17s on Tuesday (11 February), and the pair of Spurs gems will be hoping to feature and make an impact again in the clash with Mexico Women’s Under-17s on Monday (17 February).
Robert Vilahamn to look toward the future at Tottenham Women
Vilahamn recently signed a new contract in North London. Therefore, he will no doubt be thinking about the long-term future of the club, and after what Bailey and Pierre did, the two players will surely come into their manager’s thinking.
There is plenty of football left to play this season, and Vilahamn will be hoping to lift Spurs up the table.

As for Bailey and Pierre, they will be hoping to be handed opportunities in the first-team before the season ends.
