Robert Vilahamn handed Kit Graham injury boost at Tottenham Women

Robert Vilahamn might soon be able to call on Kit Graham at Tottenham Women after a recent training ground update.

It has been a tough few weeks for Vilahamn’s side, who have lost their last four matches in all competitions.

After their elimination from the FA Women’s Cup following a 2-0 defeat to Everton Women at The Walton Hall Park Football Pitch on Wednesday 29 January, Spurs lost 1-0 to Manchester United Women in the Barclays Women’s Super League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 2 February.

They were then humiliated by their North London rivals, losing 5-0 in the league to Arsenal Women at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday 16 February.

And their most recent result, a 2-1 WSL defeat to Manchester City Women at Brisbane Road on Sunday 2 March, summed up what has been a difficult few weeks in North London.

However, it looks as though Vilahamn has finally been handed some good news with Graham closing in on her return from injury after a long-term layoff.

Graham trains with Tottenham for first time since August 2024

Graham stepped back onto the training pitch on Tuesday (4 March) for the first time since August 2024 after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during Spurs’ pre-season preparations.

As a result, Vilahamn will be delighted and optimistic about hopefully reintroducing the 29-year-old in the coming weeks.

Graham last played for Spurs on the penultimate day of the 2023/24 WSL season in a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea Women at Brisbane Road.

That day the midfielder was introduced with eight minutes to play, and in her time on the pitch she managed 14 touches of the ball, completed 63 per cent of her passes and made two clearances and one tackle [Sofascore].

In addition, Graham won 100 per cent of her aerial duels and one of her three ground duels.

Therefore, while she isn’t the first name on the teamsheet, Vilahamn will be grateful to have a fresh option in the squad.

Vilahamn needs to be patient with Graham

Spurs will be hoping to climb the WSL table in the coming weeks, with some more favourable fixtures on the horizon.

Therefore, having another option in the squad, and one as experienced as Graham, could help them to do just that.

However, considering the nature of her recent injury, Vilaham will need to be patient.
