Levy prepares widespread Tottenham change after latest managerial announcement

Daniel Levy has come under plenty of criticism at Tottenham for many years for his failures in both the men’s and women’s teams.

Ange Postecoglou’s men finished 17th in the Premier League, and although he won the Europa League, Levy sacked Postecoglou on Friday (6 June).

Meanwhile, Robert Vilahamn’s side finished 11th in the WSL table, saved from relegation by Crystal Palace.

A new announcement from Tottenham suggests that Levy could be set to change his ways at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Levy makes Vilahamn call at Tottenham

The Spurs chief is obviously ready for a clear-out, as Tottenham have now also announced the sacking of Vilahamn after Tottenham’s struggles this season.

The Swedish manager initially joined the Lilywhites back in 2023.

However, his second season failed to live up to the same success as his first, with Levy feeling the time to part ways was right.

Tottenham had a fall from grace this season.

While understandable based on this season’s results, Vilahamn deserves plenty of credit for the work he has done during his time in north London.

This included guiding his side to their first-ever FA Cup final last season, although Manchester United proved to be difficult opponents in the final.

The chief now has new managerial appointments to make across the board, preparing for a new era throughout the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This could spark a change.

Levy to change his ways at Tottenham

Postecoglou’s sacking divided supporters.

The standards this season certainly weren’t good enough and a stubbornness from the boss to play a certain way probably led to more losses than was necessary.

However, for some, Levy remained the problem and a lack of investment into the team in a season plagued by injuries didn’t help.

The story is not too dissimilar in Vilahamn’s case either.

After a successful first campaign, Levy failed to build on the momentum and provide the necessary backing for Spurs to grow, even though the majority of the league were doing so.

While both managers deserve some sympathy for their situations, this has to be the time for Levy to prove he is serious about turning things around at Tottenham.

With a fresh start with both the men’s and women’s teams, the 63-year-old must take good care when it comes to the appointments before pushing even further.

If Tottenham wanted to suffer for another season at the bottom of the WSL, Levy surely would’ve taken a gamble on Vilahamn for one more campaign.

However, this widespread change across the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should be the mark of improvement throughout the club.
