Ella Morris ‘one for the future at Tottenham Women’ after recent announcement
Tottenham Women are optimistic about the future following a difficult campaign in the Women’s Super League.
The North London side suffered a huge drop-off since the turn of the year, ending the season just one spot off the bottom in 11th.
It remains to be seen whether Robert Vilahamn will remain in charge despite signing a three-year deal less than 12 months ago.
Vilahamn was brought in to instil an attractive playstyle in line with Tottenham’s image, yet Spurs ended the season scoring only 26 goals over 22 games.
Planning for next season is well under way, with the latest development surrounding Ella Morris offering hope for the future.

Morris earns senior England call-up
Tottenham announced on their official website that Ella Morris was selected to represent England for the first time ahead of the UEFA Women’s Nations League matches against Spain and Portugal.
It comes as just reward for the 22-year-old defender, who signed for Spurs last summer and has impressed in her recent performances.
That includes in her most recent outing when winning two out of two of her aerial duels for a 100-per-cent success rate.
Season | Starts | Substituted in | Minutes Played | Goals |
24/25 | 10 | 2 | 933′ | 1 |
A knee injury hampered the full-back’s start at the club, only making one appearance before returning to the fold in February, since when she has been a constant in the side.
She played every minute of Tottenham’s last eight fixtures, and recorded the second highest number of touches for the team as she was central to proceedings in their final league game against Everton (11 May).
The right-back also won every aerial duel she contested, showcasing her physical prowess and catching the attention of Sarina Wiegman.

Tottenham focusing on youth for future
Spurs have made a concerted effort this spring to lock down their young stars to long-term contracts as they look to build for the future.
Lenna Gunning-Williams was the latest academy product to extend her stay in North London, following in the footsteps of goalkeeper Eleanor Heeps a month prior.
The Londoners will likely look to dedicate their budget towards bringing in young attacking players in order to support star player Beth England and alleviate some of the pressure off her shoulders.
With Morris set to experience international football for the first time, Tottenham will be hoping their young core continues to grow as they look to improve next season.
