Yves Bissouma will never play in Premier League again as Tottenham investigation underway

Yves Bissouma is never far from trouble at Tottenham, and he could finally see the consequences of his actions.

This isn’t the first time the 29-year-old has been in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, as Bissouma was caught inhaling nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, in August last year.

It’s a Class C drug, and if caught supplying it, offenders can face a 14-year prison sentence.

The midfielder apologised for a “severe lack of judgement” last year, but has clearly been unable to learn from his mistakes, having been spotted doing it again, with investigations underway.

Bissouma has likely played his last game for Tottenham, and more importantly, his last game in the Premier League, given he cannot be trusted.

Yves Bissouma fails Tottenham’s attempts at rehabilitation

Bissouma is currently out injured with a serious ligament issue, but that’s now the least of his problems.

Thomas Frank isn’t keen on Bissouma, which now makes the latter’s Tottenham exit seem inevitable.

Even if the midfielder is allowed to play football again, it’s highly unlikely that a Premier League club will take the risk of signing him.

According to The Sun on Saturday, Tottenham have started an investigation into Bissouma.

The footage that has emerged has come from November this year, after the Mali international invited a woman to a party in London.

Internal figures at Spurs sent him to the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in Qatar for rehabilitation on his drug issue, and he’s let the Lilywhites down clearly.

Tottenham’s option on Bissouma

The problem for Spurs here is that Bissouma has now potentially committed a repeated offence involving the substance.

The FA will also look into this matter, and because it’s not the first time that Bissouma has been involved with nitrous oxide, they could impose a heavy fine, a longer playing suspension, or even a lifetime ban.

Still, he is under contract at Tottenham until the end of this season, and the Lilywhites need to make a decision.

There’s a chance that the Lilywhites can negotiate a reduced payoff if they were to terminate Bissouma’s contract, but they would need to reach an agreement with him and his representatives.

Either way, it’s highly unlikely that he is seen again.
