Yves Bissouma to seek Tottenham redemption as Igor Tudor arrival last chance for summer U-turn
Yves Bissouma is coming to an important crossroads in his Tottenham career.
The midfielder has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons this season, with injuries a problem and off-the-field issues also in the public eye.
The Mali international has rarely featured at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent months, and his return to injury prompted an inclusion in what was Thomas Frank’s final starting lineup against Newcastle.
Spurs are gearing up to take on Arsenal in the Premier League, with Igor Tudor‘s arrival posing a big opportunity for multiple players.
Though it’s not clear if the interim Tottenham boss sees Bissouma as a starter for the match, the latter will certainly have an important point to prove before the end of the campaign.

Yves Bissouma facing last opportunity to win new Tottenham deal
Tudor will have to experiment with his squad, as there’s a high chance that he won’t strike the perfect balance straight away.
Not only that, but the Lilywhites’ Champions League success also means that the Tottenham boss will have to rotate to keep the injury curse away from more players.
This is good news for Bissouma, especially, who will be desperate to have some game time over the next couple of weeks.
- Tottenham signed Bissouma for £30million in 2022
- He is out of contract on 30 June
Bissouma is out of contract in the summer, and he is surely determined to change minds in N17.

Though a decision has not been made on whether he will be awarded a new deal, given everything that has happened recently, it’s likely that internal figures are not planning on extending his stay with Tottenham.

Why Mathys Tel also has major point to prove under Igor Tudor
There are others like Bissouma who have control over their own futures at Tottenham with what they do over the next couple of months.
Unfortunately for Bissouma, things are worse because a decision will need to be made, possibly even before a new manager comes in.
But Mathys Tel will be another player that Johan Lange and Co. assess over the following weeks, with Spurs keen to add more quality to their flanks in the summer.

As highlighted by Sofascore in the graphic above, Tel hasn’t been able to cement himself as a starter, and when he has played, has failed to impress.
It’s important that the Frenchman now kicks on under Tudor, because if not, he could be sold to make way for upgrades in a couple of months.
