Van de Ven ‘to suffer the most’ after bombshell Tottenham exit news

Micky van de Ven could struggle at Tottenham next season after the latest exit news.

Most of the talk at Tottenham currently revolves around the Europa League, and rightfully so, given the fact that it is their last chance to secure European football for the new campaign.

However, once Spurs are aware of their fate in Europe, plenty of attention will turn to the summer transfer window, when one exit is looking increasingly likely.

Tottenham will suffer as a whole, but the impact it has on Van de Ven could be detrimental to his own performances going forward.

Cristian Romero nearing summer exit from Tottenham

This summer is already going to be a huge one for Tottenham, but it may be about to get even bigger with Cristian Romero believed to have agreed terms to sign for Atlético Madrid.

Romero has been a crucial player for Spurs throughout his time in North London, and his departure would already be cause for concern.

However, after the partnership he formed with Van de Ven, the Dutchman will suffer as well, given the fact that he is at his best alongside the Argentine.

There is every chance that he will be able to build another partnership, depending on who comes through the door, but it would come as little surprise to see his own performance levels drop next season if Romero is to depart.

Tottenham will need to replace Romero well

Romero has been a stalwart for Tottenham since arriving, and they will have a huge task on their hands when it comes to replacing him.

Spurs need to get recruitment perfect this summer, and they will be afforded no margin for error after what has been a dismal domestic campaign.

Whether Tottenham return with a bid for Marc Guehi or look elsewhere is unknown at this point, but it will undoubtedly be one of the biggest challenges they face over the coming months.
