Tottenham’s biggest mistake? Ex-Spurs star thrives while striker issues mount
Thomas Frank will look to return to winning ways when Spurs take on Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Frank will have been disappointed with his side’s draw against Wolves, which saw Joao Palhinha salvage a point for Tottenham in stoppage time.
Xavi Simons’ role at Tottenham is now being questioned, as the club faces a problem to solve in the final-third.
Richarlison has been criticised, as news coming out of Hotspur Way on Monday also suggests Tottenham will be without Randal Kolo-Muani and Dominic Solanke for their next game.
Tottenham’s current striker crisis might have been avoided if they hadn’t let a club legend leave in the summer.

Son Heung-min is ripping MLS apart amid Spurs striker woes
Son Heung-min left Tottenham in the summer as one of the club’s greatest ever to don the shirt.
Son was able to get his fairytale ending by winning the Europa League with Spurs last season, however, his exit was a controversial one.

The standard of football in MLS is a world away from the Premier League. However, the league has stepped up in quality tenfold in recent years, and Son’s record is not one to be overlooked.
The former Spurs captain still very clearly has what it takes to be a goalscorer, and with Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus‘ pace out wide, Son could have been the perfect number nine this season.

Tottenham’s new signings and system would have suited Son Heung-min
There’s no hiding away from the fact that Son lost his pace, and it showed last season. However, he has still always been a viable number nine option and has always performed when played in that position.
The pace that Son once had has now been replaced by Kudus, as the latter is now Spurs’ weapon for stretching out the opposition’s defence.
Simons, also a nippy player, is more of an intricate attacker who would’ve loved linking play up with Son.
Historically, strikers in a Frank team always seem to get lots of chances, and although Son wasn’t the same player he once was, he could certainly still have find the back of the net.
