Tottenham ‘to beat Real Madrid’ to their perfect Jude Bellingham partner after £70m update

Ange Postecoglou will be looking ahead to the summer transfer window with determination, if he remains in charge at Tottenham.

Spurs find themselves 13th in the Premier League table with somehow only the Europa League left to play for this season already.

Postecoglou has been hit by a string of unlucky injuries, with huge summer transfer plans already emerging in North London because of that.

Tottenham ready Adam Wharton transfer

As Tottenham have fallen from the expected levels this term, it has led to real consideration about where the Lilywhites are as a club.

Spurs were linked with a move for Axel Disasi during the winter transfer window but the player was keen to go to Aston Villa instead as this is where more opportunity lay.

This shows the importance of achieving a strong Premier League finish as well as progressing and winning trophies as it allows you to attract players to the club.

That may be highlighted this summer with Spurs already looking at Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton, according to the Daily Mail (4 March, back page).

However, Real Madrid have also sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old, who could be touted as the perfect partner for Jude Bellingham in midfield.

Tottenham could reset with Wharton transfer

Regardless of how the season ends for Tottenham, they undoubtedly need to perform to much higher standards in all competitions.

There have been plenty of questions surrounding the future of Postecoglou in North London and if his side fails to win the Europa League, it could well spell the end of his time in charge.

However, there also has to be an onus put on Daniel Levy to provide the right financial backing to support his side, with Wharton valued at up to £70million.

At just 21-years-old, acquiring the midfielder’s services would be the perfect long-term addition alongside both Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall.

If he joined the North London outfit, he would surely guarantee himself more playing minutes, which, given he has spent a lot of this season out injured, must be important for him to gain.

If Spurs could beat the Galacticos to Wharton in the summer window, it would be a massive statement from the hierarchy that they will not allow their standards to drop again.
