Tottenham star left out for ex-Spurs ace – England predicted XI v Albania

Tottenham supporters may be left disappointed when Thomas Tuchel names his first England starting line-up on Friday.

The Three Lions face Albania at Wembley (21 March) as the former Chelsea manager takes charge for the first time since being appointed in January.

The 51-year-old will be keen to secure victory in the World Cup qualifier and that may mean that a Spurs star is set to miss out.

Dominic Solanke to benched for Albania clash

Solanke has notched 11 goals for Tottenham this season, but an ex-Lilywhites ace may scupper his plans to impress the new three Lions manager.

Between the sticks, Jordan Pickford is expected to continue as the nation’s number-one goalkeeper after his exploits for Everton.

Chelsea man Reece James is predicted to start at right-back with Arsenal youngster Miles Lewis-Skelly making his debut on the left flank.

In the centre of defence, Tuchel is expected to go with Spurs target Marc Guehi and Dan Burn for an experienced partnership.

In midfield, former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson might get the nod over Curtis Jones with Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice operating in more attacking role.

On the wings, Jarrod Bowen and Anthony Gordon are predicted to feature with former Tottenham ace Harry Kane completing the forward line, meaning that Solanke will have to settle for a place on the bench.

Tottenham will be happy if Solanke does not feature

Obviously, the former Bournemouth striker will be keen to play and make his mark on the new Three Lions boss after he was limited to two caps under Gareth Southgate.

However, it is better for Spurs if he does not feature as then there is no chance that he will get injured and face another spell on the sidelines for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Solanke’s stats this season.

Solanke has missed 13 matches for the North London outfit this season in a disappointing campaign, despite not missing any games for the Cherries last season before his move.

Spurs need their star man fit and firing if they are going to win the Europa League and save Postecoglou’s job, so they will hope to see Solanke warming the bench for the majority of the international break.
