Tottenham new manager: Ruben Amorim to turn tide amid Thomas Frank sack news
Thomas Frank has finally lost his job at Tottenham.
Frank discussed the sack at Tottenham on Tuesday after the Dane oversaw yet another defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Despite Archie Gray’s goal, Tottenham lost 2-1 to Newcastle United as a Premier League win once again eluded the Lilywhites in 2026.
A shocking season meant Tottenham fans wanted Frank gone, especially with the North London club seemingly in a relegation battle.
Frank has now lost his job, with Ruben Amorim potentially viewing N17 as the perfect opportunity to rebuild his career in English football.

Ruben Amorim could replace Thomas Frank
Paul Robinson put Amorim forward as a Tottenham manager option in June last year, but the Portuguese head coach remained at Manchester United.
There is no hiding from how poorly things went at Old Trafford as the ex-Sporting CP boss remained stubborn on his 3-4-3 system.
That ultimately resulted in him being sacked, but with the right team, there is every chance he could succeed in the Premier League.
Spurs could be an ideal destination for the 41-year-old, with the chances of a move seemingly edging closer to being possible.
That comes as his odds with major bookmakers have been slashed to 10/1 as he moves closer to the top of the list of potential manager contenders.
Tottenham next manager odds:
- Mauricio Pochettino – 6/4
- Roberto De Zerbi – 7/4
- Xavi – 6/1
- Robbie Keane – 6/1
- Ruben Amorim – 10/1
Now that Frank has gone, those odds are only likely to drop even further, and the situation could eventually end with the ex-Man United boss in the N17 dugout.
Amorim could transform Tottenham if appointed
Amorim’s reputation within English football is certainly low right now, with his Old Trafford spell ending in a hugely disappointing fashion.
It has to be said that his appointment never really made sense for the Red Devils, as they weren’t geared up to play his three-back system before he joined.
The former Benfica midfielder attempted to make changes, but they never paid off, and it eventually cost him his job.

Things could be different at Spurs as they feel more prepared to operate in a 3-4-3, something which could see Amorim get the best out of them if appointed.
Results and performances can’t get any worse right now, so getting Frank out and replacing him with the Portuguese could be a wise move.
