Tottenham need to ‘pull off vital transfer hijack’ as Son Heung-min nears exit
Tottenham look set for a summer of upheaval with Son Heung-min seemingly set to follow Ange Postecoglou out of the door in N17.
The club captain’s departure is seemingly close, with interest from Saudi Arabia having built up consistently over recent weeks.
Son finally lifted a trophy in a Spurs shirt after their Europa League triumph, but that came at the end of what had been a disappointing season for the South Korean, one which saw him struggle with injuries and fail to hit the exceptionally high standards that he has set for himself in recent seasons.
Daniel Levy and Co. now look set for a search for an alternative option, just like the way the club’s managerial situation has unfolded lately.

Tottenham must hijack Man United’s Bryan Mbeumo deal
Tottenham’s managerial search has seemingly led them to conclude that Thomas Frank should be the man to take the team forward, with the Dane expected to be announced by the club imminently.
With the deal to prize Frank away from Brentford all but complete, Spurs should be returning to the Gtech Community Stadium in order to do everything they can to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
The Cameroon international is reportedly close to a move to Manchester United, but there could still be time for the North London outfit to hijack that deal and bring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Mbeumo is understood to be particularly keen on a move to Old Trafford, according to David Ornstein (2 June) but if Frank were to become the new Tottenham boss, that could potentially have a deciding say on where the attacker’s future lies.
From Spurs’ point of view, with talk of a move away for Son gathering pace, it would surely be a no-brainer for them to go all out for Mbeumo, especially if Frank does take charge.

Mbeumo would be an excellent replacement for Son
Mbeumo has become one of the Premier League’s most consistent attacking performers in recent seasons, and it feels as though the time has now come for him to test himself at one of the bigger clubs in the league.
He struck 20 league goals for the first time in his career this season, and the possesses a blend of both goal threat and creativity that would make him an ideal replacement for the departing Son.
Games | Goals | Assists |

While Son primarily played on the left flank for Spurs, Mbeumo prefers the right, but in this case, replacing the South Korean’s characteristics is what will arguably be the most important thing.
The 32-year-old has become a global superstar across his near-decade-long spell in North London, and his versatility has seen him take on several different roles in that time, as well as producing countless big moments for the club.
Mbeumo is a player who is capable of providing that adaptable, well-rounded attacking game that has become so valuable to Tottenham over the years.
A slight restructure may be required if Mbeumo does come in, but that could be something as simple as switching Brennan Johnson over to the left flank to allow the Brentford man to play in his preferred role during the early stages of his time with the club.
On the whole, the former Troyes forward could be the ideal man to pick up where Son leaves off. However, Spurs must move quickly if they want to bring him in.
