Tottenham ‘must act fast to secure Lookman deal’ with bid to be submitted soon
Tottenham continue to be on the lookout for forwards as Thomas Frank finalises his squad.
Spurs have already made two attacking signings in Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus, but the potential departures of Son Heung-min and Richarlison allow for at least one more forward to be signed.
The names linked with the Lilywhites so far this summer help profile what Frank is looking for: a technical, versatile forward with Premier League experience and a solid goalscoring record.
As such, Tottenham could look to Atalanta star Ademola Lookman as an option, but will need to act fast to secure the 2024 Africa Player of the Year.

Inter Milan readying bid for Lookman amid Spurs interest
Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on signing Lookman this summer, as reported by Caughtoffside (12 July).
The talented forward has had a transformation since joining Atalanta in 2022, quickly becoming one of Serie A’s most exciting and dangerous forwards.
| Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
| Serie A | 31 | 15 | 5 | 2,265′ |
| Champions League | 7 | 5 | 2 | 482′ |
He famously scored a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final in 2024 and has consistently performed at a very high level, attracting the interest of many Premier League sides.
The Nigeria international has informed Atalanta that he wants to leave this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano (16 July), with Inter in pole position to sign Lookman as they prepare a bid.
Tottenham were hoping to conclude player sales and push through the deal for Morgan Gibbs-White before making further moves, but will now have to act fast to bring the 27-year-old to Hotspur Way.
Lookman offers a different profile at Spurs
While Lookman ticks all the aforementioned boxes for Tottenham, he also brings a distinct, unique skill set that Spurs currently lack.
Tottenham are well-stocked in wide forwards, but do not have many obvious options for players to line up alongside Dominic Solanke should Frank wish to deploy two strikers.
At Atalanta, Lookman played a fair share of games as a second striker behind the centre-forward, and could adopt a similar role in North London to mimic how Frank used Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa to great effect at Brentford.
