Tottenham in £50m ‘transfer decision’ as Bayern look to solve Harry Kane dilemma

Harry Kane has had a blockbuster spell since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham in 2023.

The England international completed a switch to Germany before last season and has continued to operate at a world-class level.

This looks set to culminate in him winning a Bundesliga title this campaign with the Bavarians sitting eight points clear of Bayer Leverkusen in the table.

With that being said, a big change could be on the way at the Allianz in the summer but could entirely rely on Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou.

Bayern rely on Tottenham to sign Kane alternative

There is no doubt that the 31-year-old striker is up there with the best in the world and has so much more to give in the coming years.

With that being said, Vincent Kompany and Co. are still keen on bringing in a new forward as a backup option for the Englishman.

The German giants are reportedly interested in Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres as well as RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko but funds remain tight [Christian Falk, 7 March].

If Bayern are to sign a new number nine before the new campaign kicks off, a sale is required.

This means the Bundesliga leaders are hoping that Tottenham will be keen to pay the £50million fee for Mathys Tel at the end of the season.

If Postecoglou is to agree to bring the Frenchman in on a permanent deal, a new striker could be brought to Munich despite not yet being set on a number one target.

As a result of this, the Lilywhites are set to have a telling impact on future competition for Kane two years after departing North London.

Mathys Tel yet to impress for Tottenham

The former Lilywhites’ captain’s future in Bavaria might yet be safe if Tel continues to perform at the same level in North London.

The teenager moved to N17 with high expectations after interest from the likes of Manchester United and Aston Villa was fought off.

Since signing, the young Frenchman has netted just one goal and has had little to no additional impact across his six appearances.

If this level of performance continues until the end of the season, it feels highly unlikely that Spurs will take up the opportunity to buy the forward.

If that is to be the case, Bayern may be left without a new striker signing, leaving Kane as the main striker, potentially with Tel as his understudy once again.`
