Tottenham ‘have perfect Postecoglou replacement’ already standing by

Tottenham might look to a familiar face in Mauricio Pochettino to replace Ange Postecoglou at the end of the season.

Postecoglou is currently coming toward the end of his second season in charge of Spurs, but it is believed to be his last, as Daniel Levy is set to fire him at the end of the campaign.

That is regardless of what Spurs may, or may not, go on to achieve in the Europa League later on this season.

It had first been believed that Postecoglou could save his job by winning the European trophy, but that appears to no longer be the case.

That’s because Tottenham’s Premier League run has been so poor that it is becoming hard for Levy or the fanbase to overlook the alarming situation.

Pochettino might be set to return

Postecoglou leaving Tottenham would open the door for a new manager to take over ahead of the new season, and there’s been no shortage of names linked to the role.

However, the most interesting of them all is former Spurs boss Pochettino, who appeared to meet with Levy earlier on this year.

Postecoglou’s record as Tottenham manager is pretty poor.

The Argentinian is seemingly now primed for a return to the Premier League to manage the team he previously guided to a Champions League final.

There is a level of unfinished business with Pochettino and Spurs due to how far he took the squad during his first spell in charge, and despite going on to manage Chelsea he has remained popular.

Pochettino is the perfect replacement

That is what makes Pochettino the perfect replacement for Postecoglou, because in a time when the morale is at its lowest, he could turn things around.

While there’s no guarantee that he would bring overnight success, he is notorious for developing players and getting the best out of a squad regardless of what’s in front of him.

Tottenham are desperate for some positivity at the moment, and simply getting the fans fully invested in the team again would make a massive difference.

There are few managers who would achieve that, but Pochettino absolutely would, even if it’s only out of a sense of nostalgia.
