Tottenham ‘handed major £60m Sesko boost’ thanks to Arsenal

Arsenal may have handed Tottenham an advantage in their pursuit of Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham will have their main focus on achieving success via the Europa League, though they will also have one eye on recruitment plans for the summer.

However, until their European fate is decided, Spurs will be somewhat restricted in what they can do, given the fact that they will be able to offer no guarantees to potential signings in terms of competitions they will be competing in.

With that said, Tottenham have a huge summer of recruitment ahead, and they may have just found an unrestricted route through to the signing of Sesko.

Sesko could become a Tottenham player this summer

Given the weaknesses showcased by Dominic Solanke throughout the season, it is evident that Spurs need to sign a striker of some capacity in the summer transfer window.

Viktor Gyokeres had been one name linked with Tottenham, but a recent report from The Sun suggests that the Swedish striker could become a priority signing for Arsenal, which would alleviate the interest in Sesko.

Sesko has 16 contributions in the Bundesliga this season.

Sesko is believed to be available for around £60million [Give Me Sport], and while Spurs have shown a reluctance in the past to spend big on individual players, it may be a necessity if they want to address the concerns that have haunted their campaign.

As a player who can contribute in various ways, Sesko would be an excellent addition to Tottenham if a deal can be reached.

Solanke exit could happen this summer

Solanke has failed to hit the heights that many expected after his move from Bournemouth, and he’s unlikely to settle for being backup to a striker if one arrives in the summer.

With Ange Postecoglou’s future still unknown, there are various situations that need to be addressed in the coming weeks as the season comes to an end.

Whether Tottenham look to sell Solanke to fund a big striker purchase is yet to be seen, but it may be something that they consider.
